Job Description
Location Juba South Sudan
The Draftsman at GS Construction will play a key role in creating precise technical drawings and plans to support construction and engineering projects. This position requires proficiency in drafting software, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and a commitment to meeting local regulations and company standards. The Draftsman will contribute to project planning, design implementation, and documentation management to ensure project success.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Produce detailed and accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand and incorporate project specifications into designs.
Develop comprehensive drawings for architectural, electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, and structural installations.
Prepare Bills of Quantity (BoQ) based on project designs and provide supporting documentation.
Update and revise drawings as per feedback from engineers, architects, or project managers.
Ensure all technical drawings meet local building regulations, industry standards, and project-specific guidelines.
Support project planning activities using tools like MS Project.
Leverage structural analysis software, such as ETABS, when required, to enhance drafting accuracy.
Organize and maintain records of drawings, plans, and revisions for reference and audit purposes.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Diploma or degree in drafting, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in drafting for construction, engineering, or related projects is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting tools is mandatory.
Familiarity with structural analysis software like ETABS is a strong advantage.
Experience with project planning tools such as MS Project is beneficial.
Additional Skills:
Thorough understanding of local building codes and regulations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure precision in technical drawings.
Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing project requirements.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities for collaborating with diverse project teams.
