As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team and contribute to our long-term success.

As the CFO-Ethiopia, you will provide strategic financial leadership and ensure the financial health of the company. You will lead financial planning, budgeting, performance analysis, and risk management while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The CFO will play a crucial role in supporting our transition to fully digital financial operations and improving overall efficiency and transparency across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals.

  • Act as a key advisor to the CEO and executive team on financial matters.

Financial Planning & Budgeting

  • Lead the planning, forecasting, and budgeting process with clear reporting and analytics.

  • Deliver insights that drive sound financial decision-making.

Digital Financial Systems & Processes

  • Spearhead the transition to fully digital bookkeeping and accounting systems.

  • Implement tools and processes for real-time financial tracking, reporting, and automation.

Financial Operations Oversight

  • Supervise day-to-day financial operations including accounting, cash flow, tax, and audits.

  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.

Performance Monitoring & Risk Management

  • Monitor performance using financial KPIs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.

  • Mitigate financial risks through proactive controls and forecasting.

Compliance & External Relations

  • Ensure compliance with local laws, tax policies, and financial regulations.

  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and investors.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop the finance team with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

  • Build a strong internal financial culture focused on digital skills and agility.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced certifications like MBA, ACCA, CPA, or CFA are highly desirable.

  • Experience: Senior financial leadership experience, ideally in a startup, digital, or high-growth company. Experience in e-commerce or tech platforms is a plus.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of financial principles and digital accounting platforms.

    • Demonstrated experience in digital bookkeeping, accounting software and digital financial tools.

    • Strong analytical, decision-making, and financial modeling skills.

    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

    • Ability to quickly understand and adapt to our operations and business model.
