Our client is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Assistant Deputy Plant Manager to support the Plant Manager in driving efficient, safe, and high-quality operations at the manufacturing facility. This role is essential in ensuring production targets are consistently met, operational processes are optimized, and safety standards are upheld. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities combined with a hands-on approach to managing plant operations and cross-functional teams.

Company Scale: 35,130.00 ETB

Key Responsibilities 

Operational Support 

• Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing daily production operations to achieve volume, quality, and cost objectives. • Monitor equipment usage and production efficiency; identify opportunities for process improvements and downtime reduction

Safety & Compliance 

• Enforce strict compliance with safety protocols and operational procedures throughout the plant. 

• Champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement among all plant employees. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Collaborate with maintenance, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure seamless plant performance and product delivery. 

• Support preventive maintenance programs and facilitate rapid response to equipment failures or operational issues. 

Reporting & Budgeting 

• Prepare and present reports on production metrics, downtime, and quality performance. 

• Assist in preparing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation. 

Team Development 

• Support the design and delivery of training programs to enhance staff skills and capacity. 

• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.

Job Requirements

Education 

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience 

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in plant operations or manufacturing leadership, preferably within FMCG or edible oil production sectors. 

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing and production processes. 

• Proven leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. 

• Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. 

• Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence. 

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate across functions
