The Head – Finance & Accounts is responsible for leading the financial strategy and operations of the hospital. This role involves managing financial reporting, driving cost optimization, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making. Reporting to the CEO, the Head – Finance & Accounts plays a key role in maintaining the hospital’s financial health while optimizing business processes to achieve operational efficiency. 

Duties and Responsibilities

As part of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the Head – Finance & Accounts is responsible for the financial management of the organization.  

Managing the financial reporting for the organization. This includes monthly financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, 5-year financial plans and all statutory financial reporting

Goals:

  • Providing sound financial support and insights to enable the ELT to make critical business decisions

  • Presentation of financial results and insights to the Board

  • Play a key role in the formulation of the business's strategy

  • Managing and overseeing the cash flow of the company and ensuring it has the appropriate treasury controls

  • Enabling smooth conduct of internal and external audits and ensuring the organization is compliant with accounting standards and other statutory compliances.

  • Managing and overseeing the company's banking and borrowing arrangements as and when necessary

  • Managing relationships with Investors (where applicable)

  • Managing and overseeing the company’s financial systems

  • Investment appraisal, feasibility studies, and analysis wherever necessary

  • Recruitment, training, mentoring, and development of staff

  • Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Financial, and Management Accounting functions.

  • Risk Management to ensure the business has a solid risk framework in place

  • Overseeing commercial decision making from tender analysis, margin analysis, pricing analysis etc

  • Advising and implementing best practice methods to increase revenue and reduce costs

  • Advising on market changes and providing strategic financial recommendations to the ELT

  • Managing and tracking budget and accounting information including billing, collections, and tax information

  • Reviewing all formal finance, HR, and IT related policies and procedures

  • Keep track of all operational metrics and publish them on a daily basis

  • Optimize business levers and highlight factors which could lead to increase in revenue

  • Keep a close eye on operational levers and factors affecting business performance & highlight the same vide weekly and monthly MIS reports

  • Outline problems, identify constraints, help create opportunities and solutions for business.

  • Assist the Unit head in drawing the Annual operating plan

  • Liaise with Business & IT to help fix foreign exchange billing, revenue optimization and other initiatives of the hospital

  • Revenue Assurance

  • Help establish key internal controls to ensure that there are no revenue leakage/missed revenue opportunities

  • Kept track of the performance and utilization of the various high-end diagnostic & other types of equipment in the hospital and report them on a monthly basis

  • Keeps track of the ROI of various high end equipments and suggest measures to improve them

  • Ensure that the tariff master is updated periodically and ensure that new service lines are created for all new services as and when offered

  • Assist the Group CFO in analysis as and when required, drawing up various MIS reports as and when required

  • Keep track of all costs and advise business on cost optimization measures

  • Slice and dice revenue streams, performance of doctors & other cost line items to provide insights on how to maximize revenue and optimize on costs

  • Publish weekly MIS and Monthly MIS on time

  • Other assignments based on requirement

  • Scrutiny of Accounts (General and Subsidiary ledgers)

  • Verification of expenses including Trend Analysis, Annual forecasting and Variance Analysis
