The Head – Human Resources is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the hospital’s mission and operational goals. This role oversees talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, training, and compliance with labor regulations. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Head – HR plays a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture, improving employee satisfaction, and ensuring efficient workforce planning to deliver high-quality patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manpower Planning & Recruitment

  • To be responsible for Manpower planning department wise.

  • To carry out all recruitments of the organization.

  • To ensure recruitment is carried out as per Job Specification for all positions.

Separation

  • To be responsible for final settlements of employees leaving the Organization.

  • To conduct exit interviews for employees leaving the hospital Compensation & Benefits 

  • To prepare HR Budget for each financial year and control HR Cost 

  • To review the compensation policy and be responsible for Compensation Management.

  • To ensure confirmation/ regularization / extension process are completed one month before the due date and necessary orders are issued to the concerned employee through their Departmental Heads.

  • To handle all promotion cases 

  • Performance Management System

  • To implement the online performance appraisal system for assessing the performance of employees.

  • To ensure timely completion of PMS process. 

  • To adhere to all statutory regulations applicable to the employees of Hospital.

  • To have close liaison with the Government officials of Labour Department.

  • To ensure statutory payments are made as per schedule and maintain relevant documents.

  • To ensure all hospital licenses relevant to HR are valid at all times and renewals are made on time.

  • To ensure statutory records are updated regularly and the returns are filed as per the due dates of respective laws.

  • To coordinate with internal / external auditors and Government Inspection Authorities.

  • To coordinate with statutory consultant and ensure compliance on time. 

Statutory

Discipline

  • To counsel employees, redress grievances and maintain high morale.

  • To maintain discipline among the employees and take appropriate action in case of violation.

  • To coordinate with Advocates in all Labour cases.

  • To conduct preliminary enquiry on all disciplinary cases.

  • To issue Warning letters for latecomers and initiate suitable disciplinary action on employees committing misconduct.

Welfare & Employee Engagement

  • To be responsible for conducting Organizational Climate Survey and implement the action plan.

  • To coordinate all welfare activities and ensure timely action.

  • To be responsible for the vaccination of employees.

  • To be responsible for issue of Uniforms according to their due dates and monitor employee grooming.

  • To upkeep and make a periodical visit to the hospital maintained hostels / guest houses.

  • To ensure that the agreements / lease documents of hostel / guesthouse are renewed regularly on time.

  • To coordinate all hospital functions and celebrations.

  • To be responsible for submission of Inclusion & Exclusion details of employees to the Insurance Company as per time schedule for Group Medi claim Insurance, GTLI, GPA.

Quality Systems

  • To maintain & monitor the HR document procedures as per the norms followed by the NABH/ISO standard.

  • To be responsible for sending advices on time for payment of salary and overtime.

  • To monitor necessary records in respect of the attendance, leave and medical benefit utilization details of employees.

Payroll & Time Office

Others

  • To be responsible for smooth functioning of the HR department.

  • To maintain the Personnel records of existing and resigned employees.

  • To ensure Personnel details of all employees are available in the HCM.
