Job Description

As a Senior Finance Analyst & GL Accountant, you will safeguard the integrity of Habesha Breweries’ general ledger, ensure flawless reconciliations and account-clearing, and provide analytical insight that powers better business decisions. You will also act as the finance focal point on our SAP S/4HANA programme, helping to modernise processes and controls across the brewery.

Key Responsibilities

Area What You’ll Do

General Ledger Control

Post and review complex journal entries and perform daily trial-balance (TB) health checks.

Own month-end and year-end close checklists, ensuring on-time, error-free completion.

Maintain IFRS-compliant GL structures and mapping tables.

Account Reconciliation & Clearing

Prepare and reconcile vendor, bank, GR/IR, and condition accounts; resolve aged items promptly.

Perform detailed vendor-aging reviews, engage with AP and procurement to clear backlogs.

Support the Finance Specialist – Internal Controls in daily bank-reconciliation activities.

Process Costing & Analysis

Execute monthly process-costing runs; analyse variances and investigate bottlenecks revealed by TB health checks.

Produce ad-hoc cost and margin analyses to support production and supply-chain teams

Compliance & Internal Controls

Monitor adherence to IFRS, company policies, and audit requirements.

Help design and track remediation plans for any control gaps.

Contribute to developing compliance dashboards and periodic control self-assessments.

SAP S/4HANA Support

Provide clean master-data files, mapping templates, and reconciliation packs for migration.

Participate in UAT, document test scripts, and log defects for the finance work-stream.

Prepare concise status updates and risk logs for project stakeholders.

Reporting

Compile monthly reconciliation packs and GL analytics for management and external auditors.

Produce compliance and internal-control performance reports.

Generate data-driven insights to aid strategic and operational decision-making.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 4 – 6 years of progressive accounting/analysis experience, ideally in FMCG or manufacturing.

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP FI/CO; exposure to S/4HANA migration is an advantage.

  • Proven mastery of IFRS, month-end close, and reconciliation best practices.

  • Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with BI/reporting tools is preferred.

  • Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or CMA) underway or completed is desirable.
