Data Analytics and Insight Specialist

Role purpose:

• To assist CBU-Data Analytics and Insight Manager in providing good quality, timely, accurate and relevant business insights from Safaricom Ethiopia’s internal information systems to the relevant teams in the company to support commercial decisions

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

•  Provide accurate and timely data for business analysis and decisions

• Assist in developing and maintaining periodic standard and ad hoc reports that address recurring or once-off requests from your customers

• Plan, monitor, and conduct analysis of subscribers, Revenues, and usage across all dimensions such as product subscriptions, campaigns, performance, demographic profiles and reload patterns to identify trends and make recommendations to improve product performance.

Key performance indicator:

• Timely availability of “Accurate” requested reports

•  Ability to comfortably work and deliver high-quality output in your manager’s absence.

• Ability of automating routine tasks using Power BI

• Safety of company records in terms of security against loss of data, confidentiality, hacking, and other IT-related security issues

Functional Competencies:

·       Proficient in handling large datasets using SQL, Python and other relevant tools

·       Translate data into actionable insights that support marketing, product and sales strategies

·       Develop automated dashboards and self-service BI tools using Power BI

·       Collaborating with cross functional teams

·       Adheres to data privacy, security, and regulatory standards

·       Ensure proper use of customer data, and promote ethical data practices

Job Requirements

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science / Other relevant computer-related courses with 3+ years’ experience in similar areas.

Technical Proficiency

• Strong SQL skills: Ability to write optimized queries for large data sets.

• Experience with data analytics tools such as: Python or R for statistical analysis and automation. Excel for quick data analysis and reporting.

·        Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools: Power BI Tableau, QlikView, or similar Experience

·       Working with data warehouses (e.g. Oracle, Tera data)

·       Ability to visualize data and trends effectively using dashboards or storytelling formats.

Desired

·       Familiarity with ETL process, data pipelines, and managing data quality

·       Understand of Key telecom KPI

Financial Responsibility:

·       Analyze product performance and market trends to identify opportunities.

Ensure accurate, timely, and transparent reporting of key financial KPI’s tied to business performance
