Job Description

To oversee and implement human resource strategies and functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and HR policy compliance, supporting Digaf’s Microcredit Service Provider S.C. mission and regulatory requirements.

Reports to: Chief People Officer

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment & Staffing:

    • Coordinate and manage the recruitment process for head office and branch staff.

    • Prepare job advertisements, screen applications, and facilitate interviews in collaboration with line managers.

    • Ensure onboarding processes are properly executed for new hires.

  2. Performance Management:

    • Implement and monitor the performance appraisal system.

    • Support managers in setting up KPIs and providing performance feedback.

  3. Training & Development:

    • Identify training needs and coordinate internal and external training programs.

    • Maintain training records and evaluate training effectiveness.

  4. HR Policies & Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to labor laws and internal HR policies.

    • Periodically review and update HR manuals and policies.

  5. Employee Relations:

    • Address employee grievances and disciplinary issues in a timely and fair manner.

    • Promote a positive workplace culture and effective communication.

  6. HR Records & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate HR records (contracts, leave, benefits, etc.).

    • Prepare HR-related reports and analytics for management.

  7. Compensation & Benefits:

    • Administer payroll inputs and liaise with finance for accurate disbursement.

    • Manage employee benefits schemes and ensure records are updated.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant HR experience, preferably in a financial institution or microfinance setting.

  • In-depth knowledge of Ethiopian labor law and HR best practices.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR management systems.
