Job Description
Fill out the customs clearance declaration form via Valuation Detail Declaration (VDD) electronic (online) system indicating the type of import regime, detailed data or information about the imported goods, and also tariff classification and customs valuation to determine the import duties and taxes (customs valuation);
Find and assign the exact tariff amount for every item as per declaration from Harmonized System (HS) Code;
Calculate the applicable duties and taxes payable for the imported items;
Submit the customs declaration document to Customs Authority and follow up the acceptance / rejection of the submitted declaration from the Authority and respond accordingly;
Provide resolutions to problems related to the customs clearance and report to superior in cases of difficulties;
Ensure that finance department receives all relevant documents timely for the payment of customs charges for the imported items and resolve in case of discrepancy;
Make arrangements with the relevant agencies to clear and facilitate the passage of imported items through Customs, exit the imported items from customs warehouse and receive final import customs declaration;
Complete customs paperwork and clearance documentation as per Customs Authority procedures in liaison with the Company’s Documentation Officer;
BA degree in Logistics and Supply chain management or Management, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years or above related experience
In-depth knowledge of HS code tariff classifications, VDD online system, custom clearing processes and procedures
Good computer skills
Effective communication Skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
