The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with donor and legal requirements, and supporting the organization in financial planning and budgeting.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records in compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Oversee day-to-day financial transactions, including payments, receipts, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

• Monitor grant budgets and donor fund utilization, ensuring proper allocation of costs.

• Assist in the preparation of donor financial reports and respond to donor audits.

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely settlements.

• Coordinate with Finance manager to track expenditures and ensure proper documentation.

• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Ensure compliance with relevant tax and financial laws, as well as donor requirements.

• Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.

• Maintain an organized filing system for financial records and supporting documents.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance,

• Minimum 4 years of work experience in accounting within an NGO environment.

• Solid knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Peachtree).

• Strong understanding of donor compliance requirements and financial reporting.

• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team.
