Job Overview
The QA Logistics Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, planning, and ensuring quality assurance across all logistics activities, including the transportation, storage, and inventory management of explosives, raw materials, and equipment. This role ensures full compliance with Ethiopian laws, international transport regulations, and MAXAM’s internal policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics operations including transportation, storage, and delivery.

  • Ensure adherence to legal, safety, and MAXAM-specific requirements for explosive transportation and storage.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of materials, transport logs, and inventory levels.

  • Liaise with suppliers, freight agents, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery and distribution.

  • Lead quality inspections of incoming materials and enforce corrective actions when deviations occur.

  • Forecast supply needs in collaboration with project and procurement teams to maintain optimum stock levels.

  • Investigate and propose alternative logistics solutions to improve efficiency and cost control.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for transport and warehouse operations.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure operational compliance with QA and safety protocols.

  • Supervise magazine and stock management across the plant and field locations.

Job Requirements

 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.

  • In-depth knowledge of local and international transportation and customs regulations.

  • Sound understanding of explosives handling laws and MAXAM safety standards.

  • Proven experience in inventory, storage systems, and materials tracking.

  • Strong computer literacy including MS Office, logistics software, and inventory databases.

  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Amharic or other local languages is advantageous.

  • Able to work in remote and challenging environments.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean background check.

 Qualifications

  • Previous experience in explosives or mining logistics.

  • Familiarity with Oracle, M3, or other ERP logistics modules.

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

  • Knowledge of French language is an advantage. 

Work Conditions

  • FIFO rotation and camp-based accommodation.

  • Work in remote mine site environment with exposure to heavy equipment and explosive materials.

  • Adherence to all MAXAM safety and QA/QC protocols.
