Position: Case Worker
Duty Station: Fik Woreda, Erer Zone, Somali Region
Reports to: GBV Project Officer
Employer: Qumen Women’s Development Association (QWDA)
Contract Type: Full-time, 12-month contract (renewable)

About QWDA:
Qumen Women’s Development Association (QWDA) is a women-led Ethiopian NGO founded in 2006 and headquartered in Jijiga, the capital of the Somali Region. QWDA empowers marginalized women and girls through gender equality initiatives, reproductive health programs, GBV prevention and response, HIV/AIDS interventions, and socio-economic development.
QWDA has successfully implemented impactful, donor-funded projects across the Somali Region, reaching thousands of women and girls. The organization is committed to transparent, inclusive, and merit-based recruitment that ensures fairness and equal opportunity for all candidates. QWDA is currently implementing a UNICEF-funded GBV project in Fik Woreda, targeting IDPs and host communities. QWDA is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill Case Worker.
Provide survivor-centered case management services.
Conduct assessments, safety planning, and referrals for GBV survivors.
Ensure confidential documentation and case file management.
Collaborate with local service providers for comprehensive survivor support.
Conduct outreach and awareness activities on GBV prevention and services.
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Training in GBV case management or Psychosocial support is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience providing direct support to GBV survivors, including case management, safety planning, and referrals. Familiarity with national GBV guidelines and data protection principles is important.
Experience working with IDPs and vulnerable populations preferred.
Required Skills:
Strong communication and empathy skills.
Knowledge of GBV case management principles.
Good documentation and record-keeping abilities.
Fluency in Somali and working knowledge of English.
