Position: GBV Project Officer
Duty Station: Erer Zone, Somali Region
Reports to: GBV Program Manager
Employer: Qumen Women’s Development Association (QWDA)
Contract Type: Full-time, 12-month contract (renewable)

About QWDA:
Qumen Women’s Development Association (QWDA) is a women-led Ethiopian NGO founded in 2006 and headquartered in Jijiga, the capital of the Somali Region. QWDA empowers marginalized women and girls through gender equality initiatives, reproductive health programs, GBV prevention and response, HIV/AIDS interventions, and socio-economic development.
QWDA has successfully implemented impactful, donor-funded projects across the Somali Region, reaching thousands of women and girls. The organization is committed to transparent, inclusive, and merit-based recruitment that ensures fairness and equal opportunity for all candidates. QWDA is currently implementing a UNICEF-funded GBV project in Fik Woreda, targeting IDPs and host communities. QWDA is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill GBV Project Officer:
Support the development of detailed implementation plans, activity schedules, and logistics for GBV prevention and response activities.
Support implementation of GBV prevention and response activities.
Facilitate training and awareness on GBV and women's rights.
Oversee safe spaces and survivor support.
Coordinate referrals and service delivery.
Collect, analyze, and document case data and program results for monitoring, learning, and reporting purposes.
Provide inputs for donor reports and project evaluations.
Represent QWDA at local forums.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, or related field from an accredited institution. A postgraduate qualification is an added advantage. Experience in community-based protection and GBV prevention programming is strongly preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in GBV programming.
Proven experience implementing GBV programs funded by international donors such as UNICEF, UNFPA, or others, including activity planning, coordination, and reporting.
Required Skills:
Community engagement and facilitation.
Knowledge of GBV case management and referral systems.
Excellent Somali and English language skills.
Commitment to gender equity and survivor care.
