Job Description
The Import & Export Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s overall import & export strategy and operations to maximize efficiency and productivity. This includes the end-to-end management of import and export activities, ensuing customs clearance, ensuring compliance with international /Local regulations, assisting Coffee sourcing team and coordinating with Buyers , suppliers, manufacturers and transit companies . Leads and manages all Supply chain activities and processes of the company.
Supply Chain Strategy and Management:
Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support business objectives.
Optimize and manage the supply chain end to end process
Identify and resolve any issues or inefficiencies within the supply chain.
Import and Export Management
Oversee supply chain operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and customs requirements.
Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics service providers.
Coordinate with buyers, suppliers, and customers for timely and accurate delivery of goods/coffee.
Design and implement export and import strategies, prepare export documents, and schedule efficient shipping activities.
Administer export/import processes, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, and managing communication with export /import authorities.
Monitor sales/export transactions, resolve customer issues, and manage sales shipments.
Manage banking documents related with import /export , prepare required documents, and ensure adherence to shipping requirements.
Manage orders, organize products for shipping, and delegate tasks based on order size
Manage inventory in storage facilities, monitor stock levels, and order replacements.
Work closely with COO and CFO related with financial reports on international sales activity, costs, and profit margins.
Develop strategies and policies to increase supply chain efficiency and safety.
Develop the supply chain budget, monitor expenditure, and identify improvement opportunities.
Analyze current supply chain operations and provide innovative solutions.
Support efficient warehouse operations and scalable distribution centers.
Research, secure, and manage relationships with global shipping partners.
Implement and manage fulfilment and inventory accuracy programs.
Ensure optimal shipment routes and consolidation of warehousing and distribution.
Review and manage orders with foreign suppliers for timely shipment.
Follow up on outstanding items such as LC, CAD, advance payments, and ensure timely arrival of orders.
Negotiate extensions or recovery of resources for expired contracts.
Resolve issues that pose potential risks and report beyond scope issues.
Ensure timely handover of documents to the transit team, maintain communication for clearance, or manage customs clearance issues personally.
Provide required information and coordinate Supply Chain -related duties across departments.
Oversee settlement of payments to suppliers, including banks, freight, transport, insurance, taxes, and duties.
Liaise with freight forwarders and third parties for timely and accurate import /Export processes.
Manage import claims for short-landed, damaged, or over-shipped materials.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to imports and exports
Manages the pre-shipment inspection process and maintains relationships with banks and other relevant entities.
Establishes and upholds necessary policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management and control of regional clearance operations, continuously improving standards.
Oversees all job requirements for import and export shipments.
Coordinates with officials in various agencies to ensure goods are cleared through customs or quarantine.
Manages customs documentation for clearing and forwarding.
Advises service clients on the most effective and efficient modes of cargo movement, appropriate routes, legislative requirements, and educates on emerging industry trends.
Oversees customs clearance operations, including all transit safety programs, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
Reviews complaints regarding transit operations, resolves issues in a timely and effective manner, investigates transit accidents and incidents, prepares reports, and maintains necessary records.
Collaborates with the transport operation team for freight forwarding tasks.
Ensures efficient clearance operations by identifying and prioritizing improvement areas and optimizing processes and systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of 7-9 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on import and export operations. Proven track record of managing and optimizing supply chain processes.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
