We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Plant Manager to spearhead the entire operations of our brand-new coffee processing plant. This pivotal role involves overseeing the complete production chain for both green coffee beans destined for export and the exciting new venture into value-added roasted coffee. You will be instrumental in ensuring seamless operations, maintaining the highest product quality, and upholding strict compliance with international standards and organic certification requirements across both product lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Oversight: Manage and optimize the daily operations of our cutting-edge coffee processing plant, encompassing both green bean and roasted coffee production.

• Production Leadership: Directly supervise all critical processes, including coffee receiving, advanced cleaning and preparation for green bean export, expert roasting, and efficient packaging for both product types.

• Operational Excellence: Drive operational efficiency and ensure consistent, superior product quality that meets global benchmarks for both green and roasted coffee.

• Quality & Safety Assurance: Implement, monitor, and enforce robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), stringent quality standards, and comprehensive safety regulations across all processing stages.

• Organic Compliance: Maintain absolute compliance with all organic certification guidelines, ensuring the integrity of our organic-certified products for both green and roasted coffee.

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire plant employees and production teams to achieve peak performance and foster a collaborative environment.

• Performance Reporting: Provide regular, insightful reports on plant performance to senior company leadership.

• Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate effectively with logistics, maintenance, and quality control teams to ensure synchronized and efficient operations for both product streams.

Job Requirement

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience managing similar coffee processing operations specifically within Ethiopia, with exposure to both green coffee export and roasted coffee production.

• Coffee Expertise: Deep, strong knowledge of Ethiopian Arabica coffee varieties and international quality standards for both green and roasted coffee.

• Technical Proficiency: Proven hands-on experience with modern coffee processing machinery, including destoners, color sorters, and advanced roasters.

• Leadership Acumen: Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and motivate plant teams, consistently meeting and exceeding production targets for diverse product lines.

• Organic Understanding: Solid understanding of organic certification processes and requirements.

• Core Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
