QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Education: BA degree F/Accounting MSc 2nd degree in Financial Accounting or related field. 

  • Experience: 1st degree 6 years or 2nd 4 years and above in Accounting & Finance.

  • Effective communication abilities are valuable.

A Finance Division Head manages all financial operations, develops and implements financial strategies, and oversees financial planning and reporting within a company or division. They are responsible for leading the finance team, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial guidance to support the organization's objectives. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Budgeting: Developing and implementing division-specific financial strategies, creating and monitoring annual budgets, and forecasting revenue and expenses. 

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Producing accurate financial statements and reports, analyzing financial data to identify trends and opportunities, and providing insights to division leadership. 

  • Financial Operations Management: Overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and implementing robust internal controls. 

  • Team Leadership and Development: Leading and managing a team of finance professionals, providing coaching and mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team. 

  • Investment Appraisal and Analysis: Evaluating and deciding on investment opportunities, conducting risk management, and analyzing cash flow. 

  • Compliance and Regulation: Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, financial regulations, and internal controls. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong financial management skills: Proficiency in accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. 

  • Leadership and communication skills: Ability to lead and manage a team, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and present financial information clearly. 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and develop solutions to financial challenges. 

  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations: Familiarity with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards. 

  • Education and experience: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with relevant work experience in a finance-related role.
