Job Description
The National Agency Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving growth, operational excellence, and fostering a positive work environment across multiple regions. The NAM ensures data accuracy, operational consistency, and alignment with organizational goals by mentoring Regional Managers, (ARMs), Agency Area Managers (AAM) and Trade Development Representatives (TDRs) and overseeing regional strategies. This role emphasizes confidentiality, strategic thinking, and continuous development of regional teams to achieve sustainable results.
1. Regional Strategy and Leadership
Develop and execute growth strategies for regions in alignment with national goals.
Provide strategic direction and mentorship to Agency Regional Managers (ARMs) to optimize regional performance.
Monitor regional KPIs and ensure targets for customer acquisition, retention, maintaining acceptable delinquency levels, and product activation are met.
2. Operational Oversight
Oversee the implementation of standardized operational processes across regions to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Collaborate with ARMs to identify and address operational bottlenecks and challenges.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements across all regions.
3. Partnership Development and Stakeholder Engagement
Foster strong relationships with regional government authorities, trade unions, NGOs, and other key stakeholders to drive partnerships and growth.
Represent the organization in high-level regional and national engagements to advocate for its vision and mission.
4. Performance Management and Reporting
Analyze performance data from all regions to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Prepare and present regional performance reports to the national leadership team.
Develop and implement corrective action plans for underperforming regions.
5. Product Activation and Diversification
Lead the rollout of new products and services across regions, ensuring successful adoption by customers, agents and merchants.
Collaborate with product and marketing teams to customize offerings based on regional needs.
Drive product diversification strategies to meet unique customer demands in different regions.
6. Team Development and Capacity Building
Recruit, train, and retain high-performing Agency Regional Managers (ARMs) and other key personnel.
Organize training programs and workshops to enhance the skills and capabilities of regional teams.
Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence across regional operations.
7. Data Quality and Reporting
Oversee the collection, validation, and analysis of regional performance data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Implement systems and procedures to minimize discrepancies and maintain high standards of data quality.
Provide detailed, accurate, and actionable reports to the national leadership team on a timely basis.
8. Mentoring and Coaching
Actively mentor and coach Agency Regional Managers and Area Agency Managers (AAMs) to develop their leadership capabilities and enhance their effectiveness.
Foster a psychologically safe environment where team members feel valued, supported, and empowered to excel.
Facilitate regular training and development programs to improve team competencies in leadership, operations, and product knowledge.
9. Confidentiality and Ethical Standards
Ensure sensitive company and customer information is handled with the utmost confidentiality.
Promote a culture of integrity and professionalism across all regional teams.
Monitor adherence to company policies and take corrective action to address any deviations.
Education:
Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Accounting or related fields (MBA preferred).
Experience:
5+ years’ experience for masters or 7+ years of experience for BA degree holders in senior leadership roles, preferably in financial services, Fintech, FMCG or a related field.
Proven track record of managing regional operations and achieving growth targets.
Experience in building partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
