Job Description

The Assistant Planning & Analysis Officer will support the planning and analysis team in developing financial plans, conducting performance analysis, and providing insights that drive strategic decision-making in Digaf MFI. This role involves data collection, analysis, and reporting to assist in the effective management of financial resources.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of financial plans and budgets.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends and provide actionable insights.

  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on planning and analysis assignments

  • Forecasting: Assist in forecasting revenue, expenses, and other key financial metrics.

  • Market Research: Conduct research on market trends and economic factors impacting the microfinance industry.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to gather necessary data and insights for planning purposes.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations in financial reporting and analysis.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial planning and reporting.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in senior auditing, financial analysis, planning, or a similar role, preferably in the microfinance or banking sector.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis software; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Additional considerations for AFPA Officer: - ACCA Part qualified/Student on half of the fundamental level

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Adaptability to changing work environments and priorities.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of microfinance principles and practices is an advantage.

  • Certification in financial analysis, any type, is a plus.
