Job Description

Job Purpose:- To plan, organize, and manage the central warehouse and distribution operation by establishing and maintaining warehousing strategies, overseeing the warehousing operations and inventory levels for raw material, finished goods and merchandises to enhance efficient and smooth operation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, leads, organizes, staffs & controls department’s overall activities,

  • Designs and implements procedures, systems, and tools to maximize departmental operating efficiency,

  • Assesses risks by following industry trends to ensure profitability, company survival and provide solutions,

  • Coaches, mentors, and develops employees through periodic performance evaluations and ongoing performance dialogue and feedback,

  • Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.

  • Plans and organizes the overall operation of the central warehouse and distribution in collaboration with concerned bodies.

  • Creates a favourable environment for the work during the property inventory count.

  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and procedures to increase the efficiency of warehouse practices.

  • Ensures central warehouse and Inventory management to be up to standard to adhere existing Warehouse and distribution policy.

  • Oversees warehouse documents for completeness of purchase documents prior to receiving using GRN, verify appropriateness of necessary documents before goods issuance from warehouse.

  • Ensures the necessary predesigned Pads are used; GRN, Warehouse Requisition form, Goods Issue Ticket (GIT) and other pads and formats, Stock card and bin cards and follow up for proper usage.

  • Oversees the inventory management activities in respective of central and site offices and provide necessary advice.

  • Manages and oversees timely distribution of the raw materials, finished goods and merchandises for end users or requesting units.

  • Ensures clearance and proper disposal of all waste material and unnecessary items from warehouses.

  • Ensures all appropriate safety and security devices are available, safety regulations are being followed both with regards to personal safety and safety of inventory

  • Closely liaises with the fleet, and security management teams to troubleshoot any issues that might cause interruption in the warehouse management function.

  • Oversees reception of incoming raw materials, finished products, and merchandises using receiving voucher and ensure they are in good quality and right quantity.

  • Manages inventory level of each category of product or item, maintain adequate lead time quantity, and issue order to the Procurement Department with the view to minimize ordering, storage, and stock out costs. 

  • Initiates purchasing and production cycle at the appropriate time so that the materials required are never out of stock.

  • Identifies areas of improvement and establishes innovative ways or adjust existing work procedures and practice for warehouse keeping and administration.

  • Prepares periodic report on the warehouse operation, inventory flow, and consumption trends. 

  • Plans and deploys resources (people, materials, process, and equipment) to meet the needs of others safely whilst excelling at quality of service and balancing costs.

  • Ensures warehousing operations are aligned with company environment, health, and safety (EHS) agenda and targets.

  • Tracks consumption of materials (like raw materials, chemicals, consumables, stationary materials, cleaning materials) under supervision and ensures their availability.

  • Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Qualification :-

  • BA or MA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Management, or related fields. 

Experience:

  • 10 years for BA 

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher amongst others.

  • Management and leadership skills.

  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
