Statement of the Purpose

The Junior IT Officer is responsible for provides essential support for the organization's IT infrastructure, hardware, software, and service management functions. This role involves assisting with troubleshooting, routine maintenance, system support, documentation, and end-user support. The Junior IT Officer works under the supervision of senior IT staff to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and resolve basic hardware issues, including computer, printer, and connectivity problems.

• Perform routine maintenance and assist with installing, configuring, and integrating hardware devices.

• Maintain accurate hardware inventory records and liaise with vendors for repairs and support.

• Provide first-level support for software applications and assist users in resolving basic issues.

• Log, track, and escalate application-related incidents through the IT ticketing system.

• Assist in preparing user guides, documentation, and training materials for software applications.

• Support the IT helpdesk by logging and resolving incidents in line with defined SLAs.

• Help monitor IT service performance and assist in generating performance reports and KPIs.

• Assist in the setup and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers and network devices.

• Support basic user account management, system monitoring, and backup tasks. 

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather system requirements and assist in software testing and debugging.

• Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement efforts in IT service delivery and software development.

Ethiopian Capital Market Authority was established by Capital Market Proclamation No 1248/2021 as an autonomous Federal Regulatory Authority. One of the major objectives of ECMA is to ensure the existence of a capital market environment in which securities can be issued and traded in an orderly, fair, and efficient manner. ECMA, as a regulatory authority, grants licenses to any person to operate as a security exchange, derivative exchange, security depository and clearing company, capital market service provider, over-the-counter trading facility, or any other activity deemed by ECMA as a regulated activity under its jurisdiction. ECMA regulates and oversees trading in primary and secondary markets of securities, the use of electronic trading platforms that deal with securities and gives recognition and oversees the activities of self-regulatory organizations.   

Job Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a field related to the Job function from an Accredited or recognized learning institution.

• 0 or 1 years of relevant experience.
