Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Store Keeper to manage the storage and distribution of pharmaceutical supplies within the hospital. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper storage conditions, and supporting the pharmacy team with timely stock replenishment.

The Pharmacy Store Keeper plays a vital role in ensuring that essential medicines and medical supplies are available and managed efficiently in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming medications, medical supplies and equipment's

  • Prepare good receiving invoices and report to finance department

  • Maintain accurate stock records and inventory systems

  • Issue medications and supplies to hospital departments as requested

  • Ensure proper storage conditions and organization of the storeroom

  • Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies

  • Co-ordinate with proper notification of stock out medications for stock replenishment   

  • Receive incoming pharmaceutical supplies and verify items against delivery notes or purchase orders.

  • Check for damages, expiry dates, and ensure the quality and quantity of items.

  • Maintain up-to-date records of stock levels using inventory software or manual systems.

  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile with records.

  • Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper stock rotation (First Expired, First Out - FEFO).

  • Store medications and medical supplies in appropriate conditions (temperature, light, humidity).

  •  Label and organize shelves for easy identification and access.

  • Ensure controlled substances are stored securely according to regulations.

  • Issue supplies to pharmacy personnel or wards based on approved requisitions.

  • Ensure proper documentation and tracking of all stock issued.

  • Prepare and submit requisitions for re-stocking.

  • Coordinate with the procurement department or suppliers to ensure timely restocking.

  • Maintain records of all incoming and outgoing supplies, including batch numbers and expiry dates.

  • Prepare regular reports on stock levels, consumption trends, and any discrepancies.

  • Adhere to pharmacy regulations, safety protocols, and hospital policies.

  • Ensure the pharmacy store is clean, secure, and well-maintained.

  • Handle hazardous or expired medications according to disposal guidelines.

  • Work closely with pharmacists, procurement staff, and healthcare providers.

  • Communicate effectively regarding stock availability, shortages, or urgent requests.

Working Hour: The working condition will be office Hour/48 hours a week)

Salary: as per the organization pay scale.

Job Requirements

Minimum Specification Requirement

a. Educational Qualification and Work Experience

  • Diploma (Druggist)or Degree in Pharmacy, or related field.

  • Minimum 1year experience in a Pharmacy storekeeper (hospital or healthcare setting preferred).Or degree in pharmacy profession (Pharmacist) with zero year of experience and who is interested to work as a store keeper.

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of inventory software

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively

  • Renewed License

b. knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Ability to use pharmacy inventory software. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for stock records).

  • Skill in managing accurate stock records and preparing reports.

  • Basic skills in using bar-coding and labeling systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently. 

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with pharmacists, procurement officers, and healthcare staff.

  • Professional attitude and a commitment to confidentiality and ethical practices.
