JOB SUMMARY
In 2023, IMC launched a project with support from UNICEF focused on integrating GBV and Nutrition programs. Through this project, IMC produced a program model package, outlining specific approaches for GBV and nutrition integration. In 2025, IMC will test the program model package in Ethiopia and Nigeria with the objective of documenting learning from the perspectives of service providers, beneficiaries, and community stakeholders and refining guidance for further application of GBV and nutrition teams interested in introducing integrated program approaches.
The Learning Specialist will be responsible for supporting International Medical Corps’ GBV and Nutrition teams to track the implementation of the project and document learning. The Learning Specialist will report to both GBV and Nutrition managers, coordinate with the MEAL team, and coordinate with GBV and Nutrition Technical Advisors.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop tools for community consultations
Organize community-based focus group discussions, ensuring participation of diverse groups
Document baseline indicator data and develop systems to track progress against indicators, including changes in uptake of services
Lead administrative planning of training and other project events
Track the project work plan and coordinate meetings between sector teams
Document experiences of integration of GBV and Nutrition services at the field level
Document perceptions of service providers, program beneficiaries, and communities
Participate in training on the integration of services
Lead reflection sessions with GBV and Nutrition program teams
Lead learning workshops with GBV and Nutrition stakeholders.
With program teams and technical advisors, capture challenges and recommendations
Support cross-country learning, as needed, events between Ethiopia and Nigeria
Draft project reports
Support the refinement of the program model package, in line with program learning and community feedback
Support logistical planning for technical advisor visits, visits by stakeholders, or donors
Respond with compassion and discretion to anyone who discloses GBV or demonstrates need for GBV or Nutrition support; ensure appropriate service referrals.
Foster a safe and supportive working environment for all IMC staff and partners.
Exemplify core principles of GBV programming, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, nonviolence, and promotion of gender equality.
Perform other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
COORDINATION AND COLLABORATION
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all staff and relevant stakeholders, including government actors, partners and community members.
Participate in regular team meetings and program-related sessions
Work constructively within a team.
Any other task designated by the GBV Manager and Nutrition Manager

Recruit experienced enumerators and develop data collection training
Develop, implement, and promote effective team communication techniques and systems, including regular senior staff meetings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Typically, a bachelor’s degree in social science, public health, or a related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Typically, 3+ years of experience in humanitarian programming and/or M&E
English language skills and Tigrigna is a plus
Ability to develop and use relevant methods and tools to support learning
Experience in project management and implementation
Experience tracking and reporting on indicators
Experience with FGD and other methods of community consultation
Facilitation experience
Ability to exercise sound judgment, remain flexible, and manage tasks
Ability to work well within and across teams
Desirable
Experience in qualitative research
Experience in basic graphic design skills for brochures or infographics
Experience in broad social media trends and best practices, and editing short videos for social media posts
Experience producing communication materials tailored to a range of different target audiences
