Job Description

Nexus Ethiopia is a national non-governmental and non-profit making humanitarian organization registered as Ethiopian National NGO as per the CSO’s proclamation 1113/19 implementing projects under Humanitarian, Development and Peace Building areas in all regions in Ethiopia. 

Nexus Ethiopia is looking to hire a qualified Program Manager.

Job Title: Program Manager 

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Lead the implementation of projects and support field teams 

  • Develop project proposals, concept notes and expression of interests to potential donors

  • Develop reports, budget, plans to different end users such as government, board, donors and management.

  • Develop project agreements with government counter parts 

  • Conduct and or engage in need assessments in areas of operations or new areas

  • Align with government counter parts to conduct joint assessments and field visits 

  • Track budget utilization in collaboration of the finance team 

  • Support the communications Officer in developing contents, success stories and news from field 

Competencies:

  • Commitment to humanitarian Principles.

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Excellent communication skills-verbal and written. Communication in English is a key requirement. Knowledge of one of the local languages spoken in Ethiopia is preferable.

  •  Self-motivated, honest, highly responsible, and punctual.

  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as to work autonomously when required.

  • Ability to constructively address gaps and weaknesses.

  • Cross-cultural Awareness.

  • People management.

  • Result oriented.

  • Strategic vision, leadership, people management and planning.

Location: Head Office, Addis Ababa

Type of Employment: Contract with possibility of extension

Salary: As per the organization salary scale

Job Requirements

Qualification:

  •  Masters/BA/BSC Degree in Agricultural Economics, Agriculture, Rural Development, Natural Resources Management, and Development Management  

  • At least 10 years of work experience in NGO sector basically on business development, program management and execution
