YAFCO Trading PLC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Accountant for its four divisions and Accountant to the Cafeteria (Cafe) operation. 

Chief Accountant to oversee and coordinate financial activities across its four divisions:

Technology Products Import & Distribution  2.Green Coffee Export  3.Roasted & Ground Coffee for Retail and Export 4.Cafeteria Operations

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls across all divisions.

• Lead the finance function to support YAFCO’s strategic goals, growth, and profitability.

•  Act as a financial advisor to management, providing recommendations based on sound analysis.

•  Supervise and support accountants in the 4 divisions (Tech Import, Green Coffee Export, Roasted Coffee & Retail, Cafe).

•  Ensure timely, accurate, and consistent recording of all financial transactions across divisions. 

• Compile and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements from each division.

•  Prepare management reports, financial forecasts, and variance analyses.

•   Present financial performance summaries to senior management and stakeholders.

•   Ensure compliance with Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority (ERCA) rules and regulations.

•  Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.

• Monitor adherence to statutory reporting requirements and assist with tax filings and audits.

•  Lead the annual budgeting process in coordination with division heads.

• Monitor division budgets and guide corrective actions when needed. 

• Review and control overhead and operational expenses.

• Monitor the company’s cash flow, receivables, and payables.

• Oversee banking relationships and loan documentation.

•  Ensure sufficient liquidity across divisions.

• Recommend and help implement financial systems and process improvements.

•  Standardize accounting practices across divisions for uniformity and efficiency.

• Provide leadership and coordination of accounting functions across all divisions.

• Supervise and support division-level accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.

• Ensure compliance with ERCA tax laws and regulations.

• Manage budgets, monitor performance, and recommend corrective actions.

•  Oversee cash flow, banking, and financial risk management.

• Coordinate audits and external reviews

•  Implement and improve financial systems and procedures.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

•  BA or MA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

•  8+ years of progressive accounting experience,  including 3+ years in a senior finance role.

• Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Familiarity with Peach-tree, Sage & other ERP/accounting systems.

• Knowledge of Ethiopian financial and tax regulations.
