The Logistics and Delivery Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of the company’s delivery operations. Their primary goal is to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of goods while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. This role involves managing delivery teams, optimizing logistics processes, and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operational Planning: Develop and implement delivery routes, schedules, and logistics strategies to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.

  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise delivery personnel and logistics staff; monitor performance and provide ongoing coaching.

  • Fleet Management: Oversee vehicle maintenance, procurement, and utilization to ensure fleet efficiency and safety compliance.

  • Process Optimization: Continuously analyze delivery processes to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements for efficiency, cost reduction, and service quality.

  • Technology Utilization: Leverage logistics management software, GPS tracking, and route optimization tools to streamline operations.

  • Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment and stock management.

  • Customer Service: Address delivery-related issues promptly; ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and resolve complaints effectively.

  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to safety protocols, transportation regulations, and company policies.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, costs, and customer feedback; prepare reports for management review.

  • Budget Management: Control logistics and delivery expenses, optimize resource allocation, and manage operational budgets.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or delivery operations management.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency with logistics software, GPS systems, and route optimization tools.

  • Good understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.

  • Experience with fleet management systems and inventory software.

  • Knowledge of local delivery routes and traffic patterns.

  • Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making capabilities.

Languages

  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Amharic.

  • Speaking and writing local language is a plus
