Job Title: Senior Hydrological engineer

Job Summary:
The Senior Hydrological Engineer will be responsible for conducting advanced hydrological and hydraulic analyses, preparing technical reports, and supporting infrastructure design projects. The role requires extensive use of hydrological modeling software and the ability to work independently on water resource-related assessments and designs.
Perform detailed hydrological and hydraulic modeling using tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, and GIS.
Lead the preparation of technical reports, including flood risk assessments, stormwater management plans, and watershed analyses.
Analyze precipitation, streamflow, and drainage data to support infrastructure design and environmental impact studies.
Collaborate with civil and environmental engineers to ensure integration of hydrological data into broader project plans.
Provide expert input in feasibility studies and design proposals related to water resources projects.
Ensure compliance with national and international standards and regulations.
Mentor junior engineers and support capacity building within the team.
Qualifications:
MSc in Hydrological Engineering from Addis Ababa University
Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in hydrological engineering
Proven proficiency in hydrological modeling and analysis software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, GIS)
Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
