Job Title – Accountant

Reports to – Senior Accountant / Chief Accountant

Job Summary:

The Accountant in a manufacturing entity will oversee financial operations related, but not limited to production, inventory, and cost management. This role requires expertise in cost accounting, financial reporting, and compliance within a manufacturing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Cost Accounting & Analysis

•Calculate production costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.

•Manage the cost of goods sold (COGS) and analyze gross margins.

•Track and analyze cost variances in manufacturing processes.

•Assess changes in product design, raw materials, or manufacturing methods to determine cost impact.

•Review cost allocation assumptions and rates.

2. Inventory Management & Control

•Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile stock levels.

•Monitor material usage and wastage to optimize efficiency.

•Conduct periodic inventory count, reconciliation and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

•Work with procurement teams to manage inventory purchasing and valuation.

3. Financial Reporting & Compliance

•Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.

•Assist in month-end closing and reconciliations.

•Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and internal controls.

•Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation.

4. Budgeting & Forecasting

•Assist in financial planning and forecasting for manufacturing operations.

•Develop and monitor budgets for production departments.

•Provide financial insights to improve operational efficiency.

5. Fixed Assets & Capital Expenditure Management

•Oversee financial control of manufacturing assets, including machinery and equipment.

•Maintain the depreciation and maintenance costs of fixed assets.

•Support investment analysis for new equipment purchases and the process of payments.

6. ERP & Accounting Systems

•Work with ERP systems to streamline financial processes.

•Maintain accurate financial records in accounting software.

•Collaborate with IT teams to resolve system issues affecting financial reporting.

•Collaborate with other internal departments to solve, handle or manage issues affecting financial processes.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Required Skills:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

•4+ years of experience in manufacturing accounts systems.

•Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management.

•Proficiency in ERP Microsoft Dynamics 365 systems and Microsoft Excel.

•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

•Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
