Job Description

  • The job holder is responsible for handling cash transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely reconciliation, and supporting the authority's financial integrity through proper cash management and compliance with financial procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee payroll process, including timely compiling attendance, leaver, adjustments and joiner information by working with HR, generating monthly payslips and reporting of salutary deductions

  • Prepares petty cash payment vouchers and processes approved payments.

  • Receives cash payments.

  • Issues receipt vouchers for fee collections.

  • Keeps collections in a safe and deposits them intact in the bank.

  • Maintains the main cash book by reconciling actual cash with the book balance.

  • Facilitates the collection of post-dated cheques.

  • Handles petty cash and revolving funds.

  • Maintains the petty cash book by reconciling actual cash with the book balance.

  • Registers payment voucher numbers and other relevant data on cheque stubs.

  • Records payment voucher numbers and amounts on claim files and other documents.

  • Prepare payment vouchers for returned cheques.

  • Collect cash from the bank.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

  • Diploma or Level 3 in Accounting, or a field related to the Job function from an Accredited or recognized learning institution.

  • 2 years of relevant experience.

Ethiopian Capital Market Authority was established by Capital Market Proclamation No 1248/2021 as an autonomous Federal Regulatory Authority. One of the major objectives of ECMA is to ensure the existence of a capital market environment in which securities can be issued and traded in an orderly, fair, and efficient manner. ECMA, as a regulatory authority, grants licenses to any person to operate as a security exchange, derivative exchange, security depository and clearing company, capital market service provider, over-the-counter trading facility, or any other activity deemed by ECMA as a regulated activity under its jurisdiction. ECMA regulates and oversees trading in primary and secondary markets of securities, the use of electronic trading platforms that deal with securities, and gives recognition and oversees the activities of self-regulatory organizations.
