Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Officer to support the daily operations of our Human Resources department. The HR Officer will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, policy implementation, compliance, and administrative tasks. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring smooth HR operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.

  • Coordinate and conduct employee onboarding and orientation programs.

  • Maintain and update employee records (digital and physical) in compliance with legal requirements.

  • Support performance management processes and track appraisal deadlines.

  • Assist in employee relations matters, including addressing queries, resolving issues, and promoting a positive workplace culture.

  • Administer HR-related documentation such as contracts of employment, letters, and forms.

  • Monitor and track employee attendance, leave requests, and timesheets.

  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and internal policies.

  • Support the planning and execution of HR initiatives and training programs.

  • Participate in HR audits and support reporting requirements.

  • Assist with payroll preparation by providing relevant employee information

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience

  • Proven experience 1–2 years in an HR-related role.

  • Familiarity with Ethiopian labour law and HR best practices

Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office and Excel

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
