Job Description
Empowering People for Sustainable Solutions (EPSS), is a non-governmental, not for profit organization with the headquarters in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) established in 2021. EPSS is a humanitarian and development organization established with the aim of changing customers’ perceptions towards safety, security, and wellbeing by outdoing ourselves every day. It provides explosive ordnance risk education (EORE), explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), minefield surveys, travel risk management, needs survey and primarily safety and security services. Rehabilitation and Conflict Resolution to help the recovery and development of affected communities.
EPSS in collaboration with Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is currently at the verge of starting the project entitled: Enhancing Community Awareness on Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) in Conflict Affected Woredas of the Northwestern Zone, Tigray Regional State.
EPSS is looking for qualified and competent applicants for the following positions:
Position two: EORE Trainers
Reports to: EORE Team Leader
Term of Employment: Contract
Contract duration: 6 Months
Staff required: Two (02)
Duty station: North Western zone Tigray
Salary: As per the organization’s scale
EORE TRAINERS JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the EORE Team Leader, the EORE Trainers shall be stationed at North Western zone Tigray and responsible for the activities in the stated zone and its districts and he/she will be responsible for overall implementation, EORE training, documentation of the project implementation records and reporting to the EORE team leader.
Main tasks of the EORE Trainers:
Conduct EORE in the target areas in consultation with the EORE team leader
Keep the training records, prepare timely reports and share with EORE team leader
Capture success stories of the project activities implementation and share along with the reports to the team leader
Collaborate with the team and other stakeholders
Minimum qualifications and skills:
BA in social sciences, Political Sciences, or related field
Minimum 2 years’ experience in project management, community mobilization and training
Prior experience in EORE is required
Strong facilitation skills
Strong determination to promote gender equality
Tigrigna and Amharic language knowledge is mandatory
Good understanding of English language
Note:
Trainers are responsible for delivering EORE sessions, accurately managing project records, and reporting directly to the EORE team leader.
Main tasks of the EORE Trainers:
Conduct NTS and EORE in the target areas in consultation with the EORE team leader
Keep the survey records, prepare timely reports and share with EORE team leader
Collaborate with the EORE team
