Main Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Head, Support Services Section, the Vehicle Parts /Components Storekeeper II, is responsible for managing the store activities including receiving, recording, storing and issuing store inventory items, vehicle components and accessories; supervising the activities of loading and unloading; maintaining warehouse inventory.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Performs store activities including receiving, recording, storing and issuing vehicle components and accessories  of the Plant;

2. Checks that requisitions are properly filled, verifies that supplies delivered are in accordance with requisition and ensures their systematic storage; 

3. Manages the warehousing, handling and record keeping of the stock items in store; 

4. Makes an efficient use of available space, reduces handling costs;

5. Facilitates  the activities of unloading, sorting, moving, stacking, packing  and loading store  items; 

6. Critically examines material characteristics such as size, weight, associated hazards and storage factors before storing materials in warehouses;

7. Conducts physical count of all inventory items in the store;

8. Receives requisitions, checks signatures for authenticity and issues stock items as per the request and approval; 

9. Responds to all requests for items in a quick and efficient manner;

10. Unpacks packages and checks invoices and purchase orders against stock received and stores same; 

11. Keeps the stock balance of goods up-to-date by reconciling the bin cards with the stock record cards; 

12. Ensures maximum protection of stocks against all causes of deterioration, damages and theft;

13. Maintains records and documents required for the efficient operation of warehouse activities; 

14. Reports any damage on materials stored;

15. Informs quality control for the arrival of items;

16. Follows-up the cleaning condition of the area and the stored material and checks materials spillage;

17. Submits interim and end-of-period reports on the activities of the store;

18. Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

From recognized college/TVET level IV /10+3/ diploma in Auto-mechanics/ General Mechanics or other relevant field of study and 3 years related work experience

Or

From recognized college/ TVET level II /10+2/ certificate in Auto-mechanics/ General Mechanics or other relevant field of study and 5 years related work experience
