Main Duties and Responsibilities 

Under the supervision of the Lead Chassis Line Vehicle Assembler I, Lead Finishing Line Assembler I, the Senior Vehicle Assembler I, is responsible for working to achieve daily production requirements in terms of quality and quantity to meet customer expectations and requirements; optimizing efficiency and maintaining operational excellence; working  in all areas throughout the assembly process with little supervision.

Detail Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Operates assembly line equipment such as conveyor line, hoists, lifts and airlines;

2. Monitors the assembly process and caries  out basic testing and quality checks;

3. Adjusts machine controls and monitors  the assembly process and outputs;

4. Positions and fastens together and fits body subassemblies, such as side frames, underbodies, doors, hoods, and trunk lids, to assemble vehicle bodies preparatory to body welding process;

5. Installs mechanical and electrical components and systems, such as engine, transmission, and axle units, pumps, wire harnesses, instrument control panels, exhaust, brake, and air-conditioning systems;

6. Reports equipment faults to maintenance staff;

7. Builds up components and sub-assemblies into finished electrical or mechanical products;

8. Fits parts to machinery and equipment;

9. Finishes products such as applying protective coatings and  bonding;

10. Sets and operates hand-controlled or computer-controlled machines;

11. Makes quality control checks on products;

12. Ensures products are to the correct tolerance and meet internal standards and specifications;

13. Complies and ensures complicity with Health & Safety regulations, Quality and Environmental standards of the company;

14. Performs other similar activities as directed by supervisor.

Job Requirements

From recognized college/TVET level V diploma in Auto-Mechanics/ Automotive Technology/ Auto Electricity, relevant technical training and 2 years related work experience

Or

From recognized college/TVET 10+3 or level IV diploma in Auto-Mechanics/ Automotive Technology/ Auto Electricity, relevant technical training and 4 years related work experience
