Main Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Head, Auto Services Division, the Auto Services Foreman, is responsible for coordination and supervision of subordinates engaged in the repair and/or maintenance of vehicles that pertains to own area of responsibility; exercising initiatives and directions in the assignment of various complex repairs and diagnosis that will be encountered by the service shop.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Plans, assigns and supervises the work of skilled and semi-skilled employees engaged in auto mechanical/auto electrical repair work;

2. Inspects work during progress and upon completion, ensures that deficiencies are corrected in accordance with instructions, specifications above all to customers' satisfaction;

3. Guides and personally performs various difficult auto mechanical/auto electrical works;

4. Guides, trouble shoots and/or diagnoses vehicles by using high tech diagnostic equipment;

5. Ensures that the job cards are dispatched in accordance with first comes first served basis and to the proper technician;

6. Ensures that each repair work is progressing and/or being carried out in accordance with the estimated time to the benefit of the company;

7. Differentiates and reports warranty repairs from customer paid repairs;

8. Ensures that all spare parts issued for vehicles under repair are properly fitted to the respective equipment;

9. Makes a continuous follow-up of ordered parts and sublet works until they are received by respective technicians;

10. Follows-up and inspects that new and/or replaced parts are kept properly after collecting from the stores and/or removing from the equipment respectively;

11. Keeps records of work performed by each technician, and submits reports on work in progress at any time;

12. Supervises the intact presence of each technician on the job thereby controlling time spent on the job;

13. Ensures that job order cards are immediately transferred to Reception and Dispatch Section after the required maintenance and repair works are completed;

14. Makes sure that the time in and time out columns on each job card are properly filled during start and end and/or interruption of the repair work;

15. Ensures that maintenance and repair consumables and materials are readily available at all times;

16. Makes sure that the necessary safety devices are in place, in good working condition and up dated;

17. Proposes reorganization and technical improvements of the Shop;

18. Ensures that all safety precautions are taken by each technician in the workshop;

19. Supervises and evaluates the performance of subordinates;

20. Performs other related work as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

From recognized collage/TVET level V diploma in Auto Mechanics/ Auto Electricity/ Automotive Technology and 4 years related work experience

Or

From recognized collage/TVET 10+3 or level IV diploma in Auto Mechanics/ Auto Electricity/ Automotive Technology and 6 years related work experience
