Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. The main duties include:
Accounting and Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
Budget Management: Assist in the preparation of the company's budget and monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with the financial goals.
Tax and Compliance: Ensure timely filing of taxes and compliance with local financial regulations.
Audit Support: Prepare for and support internal and external audits, ensuring that all financial processes are in line with company policies and legal requirements.
Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow management, ensuring the company has sufficient liquidity to meet its financial obligations.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and recommend improvements to optimize the financial performance of the business.
Vendor and Client Relations: Work closely with vendors and clients on payment terms and invoicing to maintain healthy financial relationships.
Administrative Support: Provide financial advice and support to other departments as needed
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Proven experience in finance, accounting, or a similar role, ideally within the hospitality or retail industry.
Knowledge of local financial regulations and tax laws in Ethiopia.
Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or other relevant tools).
Ability to analyze complex financial data and present it in an easily understandable manner.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Amharic is a plus
