As the Senior Accountant, you will oversee all financial operations of our high-end dining establishment, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and profitability. You will lead cost control, financial reporting, and strategic planning while working closely with culinary, service, and procurement teams to optimize financial performance

Key Responsibilities

1. Cost Accounting & Analysis.

• Recipe Costing: Break down costs for each menu item.

• Beverage Program Costing: Analyze liquor, wine, and specialty drink margins.

• Labor Cost Optimization: Track productivity across kitchen, service, and bar teams.

 2. Cost Control & Profitability

• Inventory Management

• Implement par stock systems for high-value items (truffles, aged meats, premium spirits).

• Conduct weekly F&B inventory audits with chef and bar managers.

• Vendor & Procurement Strategy

3. Financial Leadership for Premium Food & Beverage Operations

• Manage cost of goods sold (COGS) for gourmet ingredients, imported beverages, and specialty desserts 

• Conduct menu engineering analysis to optimize pricing and profitability of high-margin dishes and drinks.

• Oversee inventory valuation (FIFO) for perishable luxury items.

• Implement waste tracking systems to minimize loss in a high-standard kitchen environment.

2. Ethiopian Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure full compliance with ERCA tax regulations, including VAT, withholding tax, and hospitality levies.

• Prepare monthly P&L statements with KPIs tailored to fine dining.

• Reconcile with Peachtree Accounting.

3. Strategic Financial Planning

• Develop seasonal budgets accounting for Ethiopian holidays .

• Analyze sales trends for premium offerings (e.g., tasting menus, wine pairings) to guide business decisions.

Job Requirements

Mandatory Requirements

• 7+ years of accounting experience, with 3+ years in F&B/hospitality.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.

• Fluency in Amharic and English.

• Expertise in Ethiopian GAAP, ERCA tax filings, and hospitality compliance.

Technical Proficiency

• Advanced Peachtree Accounting and Excel

• Experience with inventory software
