Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organizes, manages & controls the store using up to date standards

  • Arranges the periodic physical count of inventory; initiates the reconciliation of actual inventory & inventory balance on the records.

  • Verifies & approves the appropriateness materials issue & receipt vouchers.

  • Manages/maintain the company’s inventory including stock profiles & stock locations.

  • Provides routine management information on inventory performance.

  • Monitors and evaluates spare parts & consumables usage & costs.

  • Assumes responsibility for managing and running planned stock levels.

  • Exerts efforts & controls to avoid obsolescence, damage, spoilage or capital tied up; identifies & reports slow moving materials to commercial manager.

  • Ensures that materials in store have insurance policies.

  • Ensures proper arrangement & storage of materials.

  • Develops economic usage of store & implements after approval.

  • Distinguishes the materials returned to store in to those which are usable & worthless; initiates the discarding of worthless items & the repair of usable materials.

  • Makes storage of items no longer needed by the company in the separate place & properly; produces reports on mechanism of selling these items.

  • Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting/inventory accuracy checks.

  • Develops maximum & minimum inventory levels & manages their movement.

  • Manages & follows up the inventory balances to avoid stock out problems & unnecessary inventory carrying costs.

  • Follows up & gathers information on changes in the identification number of spare parts & informs the user departments to avoid incorrect purchases.

  • Ensures incoming raw materials, spare parts & products are received and managed appropriately according to company procedure.

  • Ensures materials & spare parts are ready and available for use as and when required.

  • Maintains the inventory sheet or records according to company’s policies & procedures to manage & follow up inventory movements.

  • Plans & implements a classification & coding system for inventory items in collaboration with responsible bodies.

  • Produces reports and statistics using computer software for use in determining inventory movements & consumption patterns.

  • Manages control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved

  • Generates periodic reports about its division & presents to the Supply Manager.

  • Evaluates the staff in this division in accordance with the company’s policy.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required by the department director and other top level managers of the company.

Job Requirements

  • BA Degree in supply chain management and other related fields

  • 8 years relevant experience
