Marubeni Corporation Addis Ababa Commercial Representative Office is a branch of Marubeni Corporation; a leading Japanese trade and investment company engaged in diverse global business sectors. The Addis Ababa office plays a strategic role in supporting the Head Office by acting as a local liaison—promoting Marubeni’s products and services, facilitating communication with local clients and partners, and contributing to the expansion of its business presence in Ethiopia.

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Business Assistant to support the commercial and administrative operations of our Addis Ababa office. This role involves facilitating communication between our Tokyo headquarters and Ethiopian stakeholders, handling administrative duties, and supporting business development efforts. The ideal candidate is fluent in English and Amharic, possesses excellent communication and coordination skills, and is a licensed and reliable driver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between the Tokyo Head Office and local clients, partners, and government authorities.

  • Coordinate and arrange meetings, site visits, and business-related events.

  • Translate documents and provide interpretation during meetings (English-Amharic).

  • Draft official correspondence, reports, and other documentation in both English and Amharic.

  • Conduct market research and prepare internal summary reports.

  • Provide logistical and administrative support to ensure smooth office operations.

  • Drive the office vehicle for official business purposes as needed.

  • Maintain accurate physical and digital filing systems.

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Management, Business Administration, or related fields

  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in administrative or business support roles

  • Excellent written and spoken English and Amharic

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Must be under 30 years old
