Job Summary

Quota Car Rental is seeking a **detail-oriented and experienced Accountant** to manage financial records, ensure tax compliance, and oversee daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have **3+ years of accounting experience**, preferably in **car rental, logistics, or service industries**, and strong knowledge of **Ethiopian tax laws and accounting software**. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Financial Record Keeping & Reporting

• Maintain accurate general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations. 

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow). 

• Track fleet-related expenses (fuel, maintenance, depreciation) and rental income. 

• Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and Ethiopian financial regulations. 

 2. Tax & Compliance

• File **VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, and corporate income tax** returns on time. 

• Liaise with **ERCA (Ethiopian Revenue & Customs Authority)** for audits and inquiries. 

• Keep updated on **changes in Ethiopian tax laws** affecting the car rental business. 

3. Payroll & Cash Management

• Process **employee payroll, deductions, and pension contributions**. 

• Monitor **daily cash flow** and ensure proper documentation of transactions. 

• Manage **petty cash and expense reimbursements**. 

 4. Audit & Internal Controls

• Assist in **internal and external audits**. 

• Implement **fraud prevention measures** for cash handling and fleet transactions. 

• Review financial processes for **efficiency improvements**. 

 5. Software & Systems

• Use **odoo, Peachtree, or similar accounting software**. 

• Maintain **Excel spreadsheets** for financial tracking and analysis.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field**. 

• CPA/ACCA certification is a plus** (but not mandatory). 

• Training in **QuickBooks, Peachtree, or odoo accounting ** preferred. 

Experience 

• 3-5 years of accounting experience** (preferably in **car rental, logistics, or service industries**). 

• Strong knowledge of **Ethiopian tax laws (VAT, payroll, corporate tax)**. 

• Experience with **fleet management accounting** (depreciation, maintenance tracking) is a **plus**. 

Skills & Competencies

• Advanced Excel skills** (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling). 

• Attention to detail** and high accuracy in financial reporting. 

• Strong organizational and time-management skills**. 

• Ethical and trustworthy** (handling sensitive financial data). 

• Good communication skills** (able to explain financials to non-finance staff).
