Job Description
The Finance & Operations Officer will ensure efficient financial management, contract-based payment follow-ups, statutory compliance, and effective office administration. The role involves recording all transactions in Peachtree, managing cash flow, preparing payroll, handling statutory obligations, maintaining accurate records, and overseeing general office operations. The officer will also supervise the Finance & Admin Assistant and Driver, reporting directly to the Chief Finance & Operating Officer.
Record daily financial transactions in Peachtree (sales, purchases, payments, receipts, journal entries).
Ensure complete supporting documentation for all transactions.
Maintain general ledger and reconcile monthly bank statements.
Prepare & submit monthly VAT reports and ensure timely payments of VAT, withholding tax, pension.
Handle monthly payroll processing.
Manage petty cash, maintain ledger, and perform reconciliations.
Follow up on contract-based customer payments, send reminders, and escalate delays.
Oversee office administration (utilities, supplies, cleaning, filing).
Assist HR with attendance, leave tracking, and file management.
Coordinate daily transport schedules for employees and maintain company cars.
Liaise with suppliers and service providers to ensure smooth operations.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in accounting and operations.
Proficiency in Peachtree Accounting Software.
Good understanding of Ethiopian tax laws and statutory requirements.
Experience in payroll processing, VAT reporting, bank reconciliations, and contract-based payment follow-ups.
Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills in Amharic & English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
