The QA Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through comprehensive testing and quality assurance practices. They collaborate closely with development teams to identify, document, and resolve defects, while also contributing to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Test Planning and Strategy: Develop test plans, test cases, and test strategies based on project requirements and functional specifications. Define test objectives, scope, and entry/exit criteria to ensure thorough test coverage.

• Test Execution: Execute manual and automated tests to validate software functionality, performance, security, and usability. Conduct regression testing to verify fixes and enhancements while maintaining product stability.

• Defect Management: Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla). Collaborate with development teams to investigate root causes and facilitate timely resolution of issues.

• Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, TestNG, or similar frameworks. Continuously expand test automation coverage to improve efficiency and scalability of testing processes.

• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable early detection of defects and ensure consistent software quality throughout the development lifecycle. Monitor build and deployment pipelines for issues and inconsistencies.

• Performance Testing: Conduct performance and load testing to assess system behavior under various conditions and identify performance bottlenecks. Analyze test results and provide recommendations for optimization and scalability.

• Security Testing: Perform security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards and regulations. Collaborate with security teams to remediate security issues and strengthen the overall security posture.

• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to understand requirements and acceptance criteria. Communicate test results, findings, and recommendations in clear and concise reports.

• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance testing processes, methodologies, and tools to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and test coverage. Participate in retrospectives and post-mortem meetings to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, test results, and test environments to support audit requirements and knowledge sharing within the team.

Job Requirements

• Experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on manual and automated testing methodologies.

• Proficiency in test automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JUnit, or similar.

• Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, Agile/ Scrum practices, and DevOps principles.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and identify root causes.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
