Position:  Camera Operator
Reports to:  Media Production Manager
Location: Addis Ababa
Employment Type: Full-time Contract base

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Camera Operator to record high-quality educational videos for the Tutor Me app. The role involves filming subject matter experts delivering lessons and ensuring that the footage meets professional standards for sound and visuals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment in studio settings.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts and directors to achieve the desired framing and composition.

• Conduct pre-recording equipment checks to ensure functionality and quality.

• Maintain proper lighting, sound levels, and camera focus during recording sessions.

• Capture smooth and stable footage, adjusting angles as needed for clarity and engagement.

• Organize and label raw footage for easy handover to the post-production team.

• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues during recording.

• Adhere to shooting schedules and ensure timely completion of recording tasks.

• Follow studio safety protocols and maintain equipment in good condition.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Camera Operator, preferably in educational or studio production.

• Proficiency with professional camera equipment (e.g., DSLR, mirrorless cameras) and accessories (gimbals, tripods).

• Knowledge of studio lighting techniques and sound recording setups.

• Ability to manage multiple recording sessions in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail in capturing accurate visuals.

• Familiarity with video production workflows and file management.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience recording educational content or tutorials.

• Basic understanding of video editing software for collaboration purposes.
