Job Description
The Production Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all snack production activities, ensuring consistent quality, high efficiency, food safety, and on-time delivery. This role involves overseeing production planning, supervising staff, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and optimizing resource usage to meet company goals and customer expectations.
Develop daily and weekly production schedules based on demand forecasts and stock levels.
Allocate resources including manpower, raw materials, and equipment to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to meet output and delivery targets.
Ensure all snack products meet internal quality standards and food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, ISO, GMP).
Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to detect, investigate, and resolve product quality issues.
Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all production lines.
Lead, train, and motivate production workers to perform at high standards.
Supervise production line supervisors, operators, and cleaners.
Monitor performance, conduct evaluations, and handle disciplinary issues as needed.
Track and optimize usage of raw materials and packaging materials to minimize waste.
Control labor and operational costs within the approved budget.
Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement programs.
Ensure machinery and processing lines are operating effectively and safely.
Coordinate with the maintenance team for regular servicing and immediate repair of equipment issues.
Enforce hygiene protocols and ensure all staff adhere to food handling standards.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Organize regular safety training and emergency preparedness drills.
Maintain detailed records of production outputs, raw material consumption, staff attendance, and production issues.
Submit regular reports to senior management on production efficiency, quality, and challenges.
Recommend improvements in production process and layout.
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in snack or food manufacturing, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Solid understanding of food production processes, quality control, and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 is essential.
Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
Familiarity with production software and inventory systems is an advantage.
