Job Description
Established in 2019, Deborah Foundation is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. Our work focuses on three core areas: Health, Education, and Policy Advocacy, with the goal of creating a more inclusive and supportive society for all.
Through our flagship initiative, Deborah Academy, we operate one of the few inclusive schools in Ethiopia. The academy provides a safe and nurturing learning environment that values diversity, tolerance, and individual growth. We are committed to helping children reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally while fostering a culture of acceptance and empowerment for students, families, and educators alike.
Design and implement functional skills programs (e.g., daily living, communication).
Oversee IEPs and support strategies tailored to individual learners.
Work with therapists, families, and staff to ensure student development.
Provide training in adaptive instruction techniques
Qualifications
BA/MA in Special Needs Education, Developmental Psychology, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience with children with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.
Deep knowledge of functional curriculum design and delivery.
Previous experience working with students with special needs.
