Alema Koudijs Feed PLC is based in Bishoftu and is Ethiopia’s major producer of concentrated animal feed. We produce high quality animal feed for poultry, dairy, beef etc. Our product ensures high productivity and profitability for farmers.

We are seeking an Import/Export Officer to join the dynamic team at Alema Koudijs. In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure smooth and efficient import/export operations. You will be responsible for managing the entire process—from order placement through to delivery at the destination—while also handling all related follow-up activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage all import and export documentation (commercial invoice, bill of lading, packing list, etc.)

• Classify products (HS codes), verify tariff duties, and ensure documentation accuracy.

• Ensure regulatory and customs compliance including registration with government.

• Manage registration of imported material with government.

• Track and monitor incoming shipments.

• Responsible for collaborating with Finance to get a foreign currency allocation.

• Coordinate with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, customs and import agents.

• Oversee the preparation and submission of documents required by the bank.

• Handle booking and scheduling for in/outbound cargo.

• Maintain in/outbound shipment documentation records.

• Invoicing shipments and associated cost control.

• Prepare import forecast of stock materials.

• Handle any other import/export related activities.

• Responsible for the entire timeline up until payment is made and goods are handed over to the warehouse team.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

• A person who has at least 3-5 years’ experience

• A person who has experience in import/export related experience is preferable.

• Good Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel and outlook

• Fluently speaking and writing in English

• BA degree by supply chain mgt, marketing, business management and related field.

Salary------------negotiable

• Able and willing to work extra hours whenever required

• The candidate should present sufficient security or collateral for the responsibly he can bear.
