The role involves overseeing the company’s large-scale and complex transactions while providing financial stewardship across all functions. The CFO will lead and manage two key wings under the finance department: the Financial Planning and Compliance Wing, which is responsible for budgeting, reporting, forecasting, auditing, taxation, and legal compliance; and the Finance Operations Wing, which handles daily transactions, accounts management, treasury, and project-level finance operations. This position demands exceptional leadership, multi-project financial control, and deep expertise in real estate finance and corporate financial governance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor business performance indicators and implement proactive financial controls to meet profitability targets.

Operational Finance & Cash Flow Management

  • Supervise day-to-day finance operations including AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, taxation, and treasury functions.

  • Manage short- and long-term cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational continuity.

  • Drive cost optimization strategies across projects, procurement, and support functions.

Compliance, Governance & Risk Management

  •  Ensure full compliance with IFRS, Ethiopian financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensure readiness and address all audit queries.

  • Establish and enforce robust internal control systems and governance frameworks to reduce financial risk and fraud.

Capital Structuring, Investment & Fundraising

  •  Oversee capital budgeting and project financing models for large-scale developments and expansion efforts.

  • Engage with local and international investors, banks, and financial institutions to secure funding and optimize capital structure.

Digital Transformation & Financial Technology

  • Champion the adoption of modern financial systems, automation tools, and digital dashboards for real-time financial monitoring.

  • Lead ERP implementation and integration to streamline operations and improve data reliability.

Team Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Directly manage, coach, and develop senior finance managers under both wings.

  • Build a strong, competent finance team by setting clear performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability systems.

  • Foster a high-performance culture that values innovation, integrity, and collaboration within the finance function.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Strategic Input

  • Work closely with project, procurement, legal, sales, and construction units to align financial controls with project timelines and costs.

  • Contribute to organizational strategy, resource allocation, and growth initiatives.

  • Represent the finance department in executive meetings, project review sessions, and investment forums.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary contact for financial partners, auditors, regulatory bodies, and investors.

  • Ensure strong financial communication and transparency with internal and external stakeholders.

Performs other related duties as assigned or directed by the CEO or Board of Directors.

Job Requirements

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or ACCA is mandatory.

  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with at least 7 years in executive-level finance leadership in real estate, construction, or investment sectors.
