Job Description

Lovegrass Agro-Processing Plc is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HR Operations to support the effective implementation of HR policies, ensure compliance with labor laws, and manage day-to-day employee lifecycle processes. This role plays a critical part in HR service delivery, including recruitment coordination, documentation, onboarding, HRIS management, and employee record maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee records, contracts, and HR documentation with confidentiality and accuracy.

  • Support payroll input and leave administration.

  • Implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with Ethiopian labor laws.

  • Assist in internal communications and disciplinary process documentation.

  • Maintain HRIS system and ensure data integrity

  • Provide administrative support to HR & People Manager and act as a liaison between staff and management.

  • Work directly with and report to the Human Resources Manager regarding all daily HR endeavors

  • Support HR Manager in educating employees on and enforcing company policies

  • Maintain the company’s calendar and oversee engagement activities led by HR department

  • Execute full hiring process of employees, including recruitment, interviews, verifying work-history and references, and tracking of new possible candidates in HR pipe line.

  • Implement new-hire procedures, including organizing employee orientation, creating new employee files, administering employee handbooks, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted to appropriate persons

  • Organize, maintain and update employee Master data.

  • Track company benefit plans, pension, Workers Compensation, etc.

  • Prepare materials and help organize employee performance reviews and work with Managers in the execution.

  • Execute all employee termination procedures, including advising employees on their rights and any benefits they are entitled to.

  • Foster positive employee relations and work to solve any employee issues that surface.

  • Execute and follow company-enforced HR processes and current employment laws and regulations.

  • Under the leadership of the HR Manager, be a vital source of human resources information, answering any questions employees may have.

  • Support any other special projects the HR Manager needs assistance with.

  • Other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Duty Station: Head Office at Addis Ababa

Remuneration and Compensation: Negotiable based on Qualification

Job Requirements:

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related fields.

  • HR certifications are a plus.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 7 (Seven) years of proven experience in HR operations, preferably in the FMCG, agro-processing, or manufacturing sector.

  • Experience working with HR software systems (Zoho People, BambooHR, monday.com HR and HR documentation practices.

Key Skill Competencies:

  • Sound understanding of Ethiopian labor laws and HR best practices.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and time management.

  • Ability to multitask and handle sensitive issues professionally.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and HRIS platforms.
