Background
Timret Lehiwot Ethiopia (TLHE) is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization established in June 2004 which has been engaged in number of development programs. Re-registered on October 30, 2019 as Ethiopian Residents Charity organization according to the new civil society’s legislation with a good record of achievements working with communities & partners to bring positive change throughout Ethiopia. We strive to do work worth doing and focus on implementing impactful projects with marginalized communities within Ethiopia to bring about sustainable and durable change.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our TSINAT SRHR Program team as a Sex Workers Program Outreach Worker with intensive Outreach Role. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and assistance to sex workers in the community, with a focus on outreach and engagement.
Place of work:
Hawassa and Bahirdar
Lead and conduct outreach activities alongside peer educators to identify and engage female sex workers in the community.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of program participants, including those accessing Drop-In Center (DIC) services.
Supervise and support peer educators during cascading sessions to ensure effective service delivery.
Provide counseling, referrals, and advocacy support to sex workers.
Inform and connect sex workers with available TSINAT SRHR program services.
Facilitate SRHR training for young female sex workers to enhance awareness and access to services.
Oversee DIC operations, document outreach activities, and compile impactful case stories.
Maintain detailed administrative records, statistics, and reports.
Participate in program planning, evaluation, and representation of TLHE in relevant forums.
Participate in the development and maintenance of partnerships with other service providers to ensure effective and coordinated responses to the needs of Female sex workers, and to reduce stigma and discrimination.
Maintain all DIC standard operational procedure (SOP) and signed MOU with partners & service providers
Qualifications:
Diploma and/or Bachelor's degree in Nursing and other related field
Minimum of 2/0 years of experience for Diploma with marginalized populations, preferably sex workers,
Have any HIV related training or volunteer service with youth or sex workers will be preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of community resources and services
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
This is a full-time position with a gross salary of 15,000 ETB (Fifteen Thousand Ethiopian Birr).
