Organization: Timret Lehiwot Ethiopia

Location: Addis Ababa, Head Office

Duration: 6 month

Expected Start Date: August 1, 2025

Application Deadline: July 14, 2025

Reports to: Admin Head

Timret Lehiwot Ethiopia (TLHE) is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization established in June 2004 which has been engaged in number of development programs. Re-registered on October 30, 2019 as Ethiopian Residents Charity organization according to the new civil society’s legislation with a good record of achievements working with communities & partners to bring positive change throughout Ethiopia. We strive to do work worth doing and focus on implementing impactful projects with marginalized communities within Ethiopia to bring about sustainable and durable change. 

Purpose of the Internship:

The internship aims to provide practical, hands-on experience in human resources and personnel administration for a motivated individual interested in developing a career in HR. The intern will support day-to-day HR functions while gaining valuable insight into HR operations in a professional setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining and organizing HR records and personnel files

  • Support the recruitment process, including posting vacancies, shortlisting, and scheduling interviews

  • Help coordinate onboarding and orientation of new staff

  • Assist with tracking staff leave, attendance, and contract timelines

  • Draft HR-related letters and documents

  • Support employee engagement and wellness activities

  • Assist in updating HR databases and systems

  • Perform other administrative and HR support tasks as assigned

Job Requirements

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • High level of discretion and respect for confidentiality

  • Demonstrated interest in human resources or organizational management
