Job Description
Mati is an innovative carbon removal company committed to eliminating 100 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Through the power of enhanced rock weathering, Mati addresses the challenge of climate change while improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. Our cutting-edge technology boosts crop productivity, restores degraded soils, and removes carbon—all at once and at low to no cost to farmers.
By combining advanced data analysis, local partnerships, and scientific research, Mati Carbon works to enable scalable, sustainable climate action, better yields and a better future for all. Currently Mati works with over 13,000 farmers in India and has trials in Zambia and Tanzania, and is working with Ethiopia Institute for Agricultural Research (EIAR) to validate the technology for use in Ethiopia.
Field work: In the early stages, you will take soil samples and test rock powder yourself, supervise field labor and support researchers to measure yields and observe plant growth.
Logistics & Operations: Oversee transportation and distribution of materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness, optimized inventory, and streamlined processes. Monitor performance and improve logistics efficiency through data analysis.
Stakeholder Management: Engage with researchers and research assistants at EIAR, as well as local community leaders and farmers, to implement early trials (and then, later, expansion) and then to ensure compliance with Mati protocols and government regulations as we expand. You may also support workshops, training, etc.
Team Management & Leadership: Build and lead a field team by hiring, delegating tasks, coaching, offering feedback, and leading with confidence and integrity.
Supply-Demand Forecasting: As we grow, you’ll have the opportunity to analyze market trends and historical data to build forecasts, and manage inventory/resource planning.
Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks to ensure business continuity.
Process Optimization: Assess and enhance operational processes. Initiate improvement projects and use data analytics for ongoing monitoring and enhancement.
Other Administrative Tasks: As with any management role, especially in small companies, a certain amount of administrative and clerical tasks will be required. You should be open to this.
