Job Description
The Core Banking Manager is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the bank’s core banking system to ensure reliable operations, system integrity, and alignment with evolving business requirements. This role oversees day-to-day support, incident management, system upgrades, and cross-functional coordination related to core banking modules. The position plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and seamless banking services for internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities.
Administer, monitor, and support the bank’s core banking platform (e.g., Temenos, Flexcube, Finacle).
Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all core banking services.
Coordinate daily operations, including end-of-day (EOD) and end-of-month (EOM) processing
Manage user access, roles, and permissions within the core banking application.
Implement system parameter changes and configurations as per business needs.
Collaborate with business units to customize modules (e.g., loans, deposits, payments) to improve efficiency.
Troubleshoot system issues, escalate to vendors where necessary, and ensure timely resolution.
Maintain detailed logs of system errors, changes, and patch implementations.
Provide 2nd- and 3rd-line support for branch and operational staff using the system
Plan and execute version upgrades, patch deployments, and core banking enhancement projects.
Work with project teams during new module implementation, testing (UAT), and go-live support.
Support integration projects with digital channels, payment systems, and reporting tools.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields or certificate.
Professional certifications in core banking platforms or ITIL are an added advantage.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in banking IT, with 3+ years specifically managing core banking systems.
Hands-on experience with a core banking system such as Temenos, Flexcube, Finacle, or equivalent.
Experience with SQL databases, application monitoring, and IT service management tools.
